Definition Application performance monitoring (APM)
Back to glossaryDefinition
Application performance monitoring refers to processes and software tools that are used to ensure end users enjoy the quality of service they need from their essential business applications. In virtual environments, application monitoring tools are also used to track and confirm that service-level agreements (SLAs) are being complied too. The data gathered from application monitoring tools also provide some insights to predict problems, catch service degradation at their earliest phase and predict potential issues. Centreon leverages data collected by APM tools and processes to map the performance of business transactions as a whole.
